Top 10 Craziest Wedding Moments In Pro Wrestling History

Intro: Happy Valentine's Day everyone, the time has come again for us to spend time (or more time than usual) with our partners while telling them how much they mean to you.

If you're a professional wrestler, sometimes you don't have that opportunity to spend with your significant other because your too busy on the road, wrestling across the globe and sometimes kissing your fellow coworkers because you're in a kayfabe relationship with them and your about to "marry" them.

Yes, for as long as professional wrestling has been around weddings have become well known for things that usually don't go according to plan and today on this Valentine's Day will be going over some the wildest and most insane moments to occur on our TV screens when it comes to wrestling weddings.

10. An Unexpected Toast

Upon asking his significant other, Melissa Santos to marry him, the stage was set for Brian Cage and Melissa Santos to get married on the September 27th 2019 episode of Impact.

The final moments of the show were dedicated to the wedding and the aftermath which saw Santos and Cage having a nice slow dance in the ring when 'The Draw' Sami Callihan emerged from the back with a microphone and champagne bottle to "congratulate" the newly married couple.

Callihan goes on to give some fake praise to the newlyweds but also tells Cage to get himself ready for their main event match at Bound For Glory; Sami then ends his tangent by telling everyone to raise a glass in the air as he proposes a toss to "The Bride and the Bitch".

Cage attempts to attack Sami following these comments but just as he turns Sami around, The Draw uses the bottle that he brought with him and smashed it over Melissa's face and the side of her head knocking her out cold and leaving the entire crowd stunned.

This incident and much more would lead to Brian Cage defeating Sami Callihan a few weeks later in the main event of that year's Bound For Glory with Cage retaining his Impact World Championship.

9. Liv Morgan's Secret

On the final episode of Monday night Raw in December of 2019, a wedding segment was set between Bobby Lashley and Lana who had become a couple after the latter cheated on Rusev (aka Miro in the AEW) with Lashley.

The wedding was constantly interrupted, first by Lana's suppose first husband and then Lashley suppose first wife, but they were quickly dispatched before things went underway and then the wedding gets interrupted again but this time by an unexpected guest.

Liv Morgan, who hadn't been seen inside a WWE ring for months and was being hyped up via video packages for her return randomly came out the ring to reveal that she was in love with someone in the ring.

At first it looked like Lashley would be the person Liv was referring to, instead it turns out that Liv's secret love interest was actually Lana, and she's didn't want Lana to get married while she still had feelings for her. Lana started crying at first but responded to Liv's confession by slapping her across the face and then a fight ensued involving both ladies until Rusev emerged out of the wedding cake and starting to brawl with Lashley before Liv threw Lana into the cake covering her in frosting as the show ends with Lana screaming and crying over her wedding plans falling apart.

While Liv Morgan's return to Raw for this segment may have destroyed any intrigue that was build up through those previously aired video packages, the shocking revelation of Liv and Lana as lovers was unexpected...even though WWE dropped any mention of this after the feud with Liv Morgan and Lana ended.

8. Stripping Down for the Occasion

The onscreen pairing of Eric Young and ODB is undoubtably one of the more memorable couples in modern wrestling history, so it only makes sense that their wedding should be just as memorable.

On the April 12th, 2012 edition of Impact, Eric Young and ODB were set to marry each other in the middle of the ring inside the Impact Zone in Universal Studio, but the festivities were ruined when Sarita and Rosita (Sarah Stock and Thea Trinidad respectively) attempted to continue where they left off earlier in the night by tempting EY to call off the wedding.

Both Sarita and Rosita stripped off their ropes to expose their lingerie underneath which gets the crowd and Eric Young's attention; ODB then strips out of her dress and down to her under garments in order to get Eric Young's attention which leads to Eric choosing ODB over Sarita and Rosita.

Of course, never one to miss out on the madness, Eric then strips off his suit until his wearing nothing but his shoes, socks and underwear which leads to the two of them pronouncing their love for each other and officially becoming a wedded couple before having a big ole kiss in the middle of the ring.

7. Does Anyone Have Any Objections?

On the June 20th, 2005 edition of Raw, the rated R superstar, Edge was set to marry Lita who was his then girlfriend after she turned her back on Kane to be with Edge in storyline while at the same time having an affair with Edge behind Matt Hardy's back in real life.

Following chants of "We Want Matt" and a sappy video package recapping Lita's heel turn and onscreen association with Edge, the two lovebirds exchange vows and wedding rings with the priest asking if anyone objections to this wedding to which the sound of Matt Hardy's music plays and the crowd erupts in enjoyment.

However, it's soon revealed that this is hoax played by Lita and Edge as Matt Hardy isn't even in the building...but one person who is here to object this union in none other than 'The Big Red Machine' Kane who pops out from underneath the ring to attack and scare the not so married coupled and Kane event hits the tombstone piledriver on the priest for crying out loud.

This would lead to a series of matches between Edge and Kane with the rated R superstar winning the feud, but he then had to deal with a returning Matt Hardy soon afterwards.

6. Three Minutes!

On the September 12th, 2002 edition of Smackdown history was made do in large part to the wedding/commitment ceremony between tag team partners Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo. The ceremony also included then general manager of Smackdown, Stephanie McMahon as well as Billy Chuck's manager/personal stylish Rico as speculators.

Everything was going well until it became very clear from the constant camera shots of Billy, Chuck and Rico leading to the preannouncement that something isn't right and sure enough it wasn't as both Billy and Chuck decry the whole ceremony as nothing more than a publicity stunt and that they themselves weren't gay which leads to a thunderous reaction from the crowd which just helps to show just how horribly this segment had aged.

If this not so stunning revelation wasn't enough, the big surprise came when the geriatric priest mentions that it doesn't matter how long Billy and Chuck wish to commit themselves to each other even if it takes years, days or minutes...to which the priest's voice changes as he says, "Wait a second...Did I just hear myself say...Three Minutes."

The priest then starts grabbing and ripping his face off, revealing it to be not only a very convincing mask but the man behind it all was invading Raw General Manager, Eric Bischoff.

The look of Stephanie McMahon's face upon the big unmasking says everything but things were far from over as Bischoff's enforcers: Jamal and Rosie aka Three Minute Warning attack Billy, Chuck and Stephanie before the Smackdown locker room enter the ring and clear out the invaders including Rico who turns on both Billy and Chuck to join forces with Raw.

While parts of this segment would never happen today for obvious reasons and it certainly got the WWE some backlash with the LGTBQ community, the big reveal by Bischoff and the attack that followed makes this moment so iconic.

5. Broken Wedding Crasher

From one wedding involving the Big Red Machine to another...After impregnating Lita with his baby and beating Matt Hardy at Summerslam in a match that would allow Kane the opportunity to marry Lita, the unholy ceremony took place on the August 23rd, 2004 episode of Monday Night Raw.

During their wedding vows Lita mentions how much of a horrible person Kane is while also professing her love for Matt Hardy, Kane meanwhile mentions how Lita is now his property and how she will never have the freedom to do anything every again...And you begin to wonder how WWE thought Kane would be the babyface once Lita turned on him?

Anyway, the priest begins to ask if anyone has any objections to this union when suddenly Matt Hardy's theme song begins to play throughout the arena much to the delight of Lita and the displeasure of Kane.

Hardy would sneak attack Kane and attempt to run off with Lita before hell fire and a very angry big red machine stops this from happening and leads to Matt getting chokeslammed off the stage and Kane officially sealing his marriage to Lita with a kiss.

4. Wedding Day Murder

On the October 27th, 2020 edition of Impact former Knockouts Champion, Rosemary was set to marry former referee turn valet for Taya Valkyrie, John E. Bravo.

The wedding saw the return of Father James Mitchell, Fallah Bahh dressed up like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man for some reason and host of other Impact wrestlers attending the proceedings.

Everything went well with both Bravo and Rosemary saying 'I Do' but just as they were about to kiss each other the lights went out with many of wrestlers panicking until a quick burst of light and the sound of a gunshot going off startles everyone.

But as soon as the lights come back on everyone is screaming as John E. Bravo is found down on the floor with a spot of blood on his white suit right near the heart. It is at this moment the episode ends with Tommy Dreamer saying the line "Who Shot Bravo" before whaling out a scream of "Noooooooooooo" that would make Darth Vader proud.

It was revealed in the months that followed that it was Taya Valkyrie who shot Bravo as she was best friends with Rosemary and felt that Bravo was a horrible person who was unfit to marry her bestie.

Upon admitting this in a backstage interview in front of Dreamer and Bravo, security takes Taya away where she would spend time in a prison located in Connecticut or Florida which was a jab that she might be heading to WWE or AEW.

3. The Brand New Mrs. Helmsley

Upon defeating Shane McMahon in a match at Summerslam that would allow him to marry Shane's sister Stephanie, Test (real name Andrew Martin) would finally be able to marry the girl he loved and so it was on the November 29th, 1999 episode of Raw that saw the wedding of Stephanie McMahon and Test.

As to be expected things got interrupted by of all people Triple H, who told everyone to watch the video on the titantron before the rest of the wedding could continue.

In the video, Hunter is seen entering into a 24-hour drive thru wedding chapel with a guest in the passenger seat and that guest...is an unconscious Stephanie McMahon.

Hunter attempts to rush through the wedding vows and ring exchanges by using ventriloquism to "sound like Steph" and after instructing the cameraman who also was the bartender who put something in Stephanie's drink during her bachelorette party to take care of things in the back of the car, Hunter then grabs the camera and utters the immorality line of "Hey, get a shot of the Brand New Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Hearst Helmsely".

As the video ends with Helmsely driving away in the car that says 'Just Married' on the back, Triple H emerges and tells his new father-in-law, Vince McMahon if his wondering how many times the consummated the marriage which leads to Vince and Test enraged as tearful Stephanie can be heard saying "I Hate You".

2. It's Getting Hot In Here
Much like her father's time in the company Brooke Hogan's time in the former TNA Wrestling is genuinely regarded as one of the worse things about the promotion around that time, however if there was one good thing to involve Hulk's daughter it would be her wedding to Bully Ray on an episode of Impact in early 2013.

Despite his disapproval of Bully in the beginning, Hulk eventually comes around to the idea of Brooke marrying Bully with all of the Knockouts and many of Bully Ray's friends attending the ceremony.

As you've heard me say some many times on this list, the wedding was going smoothly until TNA Commentator Taz (who is good friends with Bully) takes the mic away from the priest and asks Bully two questions with the first one being that is he entirely sure about going through with the marriage...seems like the worse time to ask your homie this question now but whatever.

Perplexed by Taz's actions, Bully tells the former ECW star that of course his going through with it; This then leads to Tazz asking the second question which is "Is it just me or it freakin hot in here?"

Tazz then removes his suit jacket revealing to the live crowd and slowly turning around to reveal that Bully's friend and commentator is a member of the nefarious bike gang, Aces & Eights. This leads to a swarm of Aces & Eights members hitting ring and assaulting all the male wrestlers with the altar completely destroyed, Bully and Hulk laid out in pain and even Brooke Hogan's breasts start popping out of her dress throughout the whole thing although that part of the footage has been edited out on Impact's official YouTube channel.

It was one of the best shock moments to involve a wrestling wedding in years and helped to make it clear that even your closest friends can be your worse enemy.

1. A Sinister Wedding Present

Yes, it's an easy pick for number one but really no list about craziest wrestling wedding moments would be complete without mentioning this.

At the 1991 Summerslam, the show ended with Macho Man Randy Savage getting married to his valet Miss Elizabeth in a moment that has become as iconic as Elizabeth's response to Savage popping the question.

Unlike many of the other weddings on this list, this one went relatively well with no interruptions from anyone, and the two lovebirds got onscreen married in front of the live crowd in Madison Sqaure Garden.

While the wedding went off without a hitch, it's the events that occurred at the wedding reception that gets this wedding on this list.

Both Savage and Elizabeth start opening their wedding gifts when the newly married Miss Savage opens a box that contains a King Cobra leading to Elizabeth screaming in fear and her husband assaulted by the Undertaker and Jake Roberts. the inventor of the DDT grabs the Cobra and brings it closer to Elizabeth's face as she's panicking in the corner until Psycho Sid emerges with a chair to run off the Deadman and the Snake man.

It's iconic and shocking in all the right ways and it's easily the craziest wrestling wedding moment in pro wrestling history.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone...Oh yeah and if you're getting married today or plan to get marriage, make sure to bring a lot of security at the wedding because you never know who or what might ruin the whole event.
