Intro: For first time in years the hype and anticipation for Impact Wrestling's yearly pay per view, Bound For Glory has gotten fans both diehard and new eager to see what the company has in store for them and the wrestling world on Saturday October 23rd at Sam's Town in Las Vegas.
With BFG not too far away, I've decided to an article going over the announced matches for the PPV while also giving my predictions as to who will win their respective contests and why?
John Skyler vs. Crazzy Steve vs. Fallah Bahh vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Chelsea Green vs. Madison Rayne For the Digital Media Championship
At Bound For Glory, the very first Digital Media Champion in Impact Wrestling history will be determined as newcomer John Skyler, Decay's own Crazzy Steve, Fallah Bahh, 'Thick Mama Pump' Jordynne Grace, 'The Hot Mess' Chelsea Green and last minute replacement, Madison Rayne will compete with one of these six wrestlers walking out as the champion. Predictions: John Skyler Becomes the 1st Impact Wrestling DM Champion
Due to Tenille Dashwood being unexpectedly take out of the match, my second choice for who's going to walk out as the inaugural DM Champion is John Skyler.
Since his arrival, the company has seen something special within John Skyler and perhaps that potential may very much lead to him becoming champion.
Steve Maclin vs. El Phantasmo vs. Trey Miguel For The X Division Championship
From one BFG match set to crown a new champion to another as we turn to the X Division.
Following Josh Alexander's decision to invoke 'Option C', the X Division title became vacant and so therefore a new champion needed to be crowned.
After weeks of triple threat matches on Impact to determine who will compete for the title at the pay per view, the final three contenders: Trey Miguel, Steve Maclin and Bullet Club's El Phantasmo are set to compete in order to see who will become new X Division champion at Bound For Glory.
Prediction: Steve Maclin Becomes The New X Division Champion
While most fans expect to see Trey Miguel to walk out as the new champion, I think it will be the guy from Rutherford New Jersey that will leave Las Vegas with the gold; Maclin has been looking to become the X Division Champion for months now and just like Josh Alexander, Maclin certainly brings a vicious, ground and pound style of wrestling that can do well against the high flying antics of the other X Division stars.
Not only that but a story could be built up with Maclin remaining undefeated throughout much of his X Division title reign only for Trey Miguel to be the one to take the belt off of Maclin on pay per view leading to a monumental moment and victory for Trey.
Violent By Design vs. Heath & Rhino???
After being out for more than a year with an injury, Heath returned to Impact weeks ago and after officially signing the contract in Scott D'Amore's office, Heath wants a match with the members of Violent By Design at BFG with 'The War Machine' Rhino as his partner.
While Heath was out with injury, his buddy Rhino has gone from joining VBD to cashing in that 'Call Your Shot Trophy' he won last year at BFG to become the new Impact Tag Team Champions with VBD to being the one responsible for the team losing the belts among other matches which has forced Eric Young to kick Rhino out of the group.
Currently it's unclear who's side Rhino will be on at BFG but for Heath's sake, he better hope Rhino comes to help him out.
Prediction: Heath and ??? Win
First of all, I am not entirely sure if it will be Rhino who will be Heath's partner or if it will be a brand new wrestler debuting but either way I expect Heath and his partner (whomever that is) to pick up the victory albeit after minutes and minutes of Heath trying to fight back only for names like Joe Doering, Deaner and Eric Young to beat the heck out of Heath before some comes to his rescue.
The Good Brothers vs. FinJuice vs. The Bullet Club For Impact World Tag Team Championships
After laying out the challenge for someone to face them for the tag team titles at BFG and following the controversial finish to the number one contender's tag team match on the go home episode of Impact, the decision was made to have both FinJuice and The Bullet Club's Chris Bey and Hikuleo take on the Good Brothers for the Impact tag team titles at Bound For Glory.
Predictions: The Good Brothers Retain The Tag Team Titles
This one is pretty easy to predict, I don't see the Good Bros losing those tag team titles to either team at BFG as there's really hasn't been no build to a potential title change in the lead up to this event.
The Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match
20 wrestlers will enter the ring but by the end of the match only one will remain; Wrestlers like Moose, Rich Swann and Brian Myers have already announced their participation in this match while others like W. Morrisey and Chris Sabin have earned this opportunity by way of the battle royal that took place last week on Impact with Morrisey coming in at number 20 and Sabin number 1.
The match promises to be full of surprises but the question remains who will be the winner?
Predictions: Moose wins the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match
While I ways tempted to say W. Morrissey was my pick, I have to go with the self proclaimed wrestling god himself, Moose solely for the fact that I think the time to make Moose Impact World Champion should be happening in 2022 and with the win in this match plus the trophy that will allow you to cash in your opportunity for the title anytime it makes sense that Moose should be the one to win.
The IInspiration vs. Decay For The Knockouts Tag Team Championship
After the announcement of Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay aka The IInspiration coming to Impact at the very end of Knockouts Knockdown, it didn't take fans too long to speculate that they would be going for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.
Following a backstage segment on Impact where the match between Lee and McKay and defending champions, Decay was made official, Rosemary and Havok are determine to take on the new challengers, while the IInspiration have now doubt that they'll walk out as the new champions.
Predictions: Decay Remain The Knockouts Tag Team Champions
I might be in the minority for this one but I think Decay will remain the KO tag team champions after BFG, mostly because I dislike the whole former WWE star show up and get the title opportunity and more often than not wins the belt off of the established Impact stars; It's a trope that should be long gone from Impact going forward and I don't want to see Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay the tag champs right way sometimes the biggest interest in a feud is the chase leading to the inevitable title change.
Mickie James vs. Deonna Purrazzo For The Knockouts Championship
The feud between Mickie James and Deonna Purrazzo has extended from Slammiversary to NWA Empowerr to Knockouts Knockdown with both ladies exchanging words and punches with each other even going so far to the champion attacking Mickie at her own barn.
At Bound For Glory, 'Hardcore Country' will take on 'The Virtuosa' Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship in her first match at Bound For Glory in 10 years.
Predictions: Deonna Purrazzo Retains The Knockouts Championship
At this point in time I don't know who will be the one to beat Deonna for the Knockouts Championship and no offense to Mickie James but I don't see her being the own to beat the champion, plus the idea of Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mercedes Martinez for the Knockouts Title is too much of a money match to pass up.
Josh Alexander vs. Christian Cage For The Impact Wrestling World Championship
In the main event, 'The Instant Classic' Christian Cage defends the Impact World Heavyweight Championship against the former Impact tag team and X Division champion 'The Walking Weapon' Josh Alexander.
Option C has been cashed in, the contract signings and summits are over and if the go home episode is any indication the fighting is just getting started; 2 Canadians from two different generations competing on one of the biggest night's Impact Wrestling history with the richest prize in professional wrestling on the line.
Predictions: Josh Alexander Becomes The New Impact World Champion
From Option C cash in to the mini documentary shown on the go home show has led to this moment and that moment being Josh Alexander being crowned the new Impact World Champion, with how everything has been set up it seems like forgone conclusion that by the end of the night, we will have a new World Heavyweight Champion.
